Canadiana lawn trackter no brakes

Canadiana Dynadtrack 11/36 model 5288-4700 Code 0059 6speed transaxel

I solved the wiring problum I had with the motor. thank you

Now I have no brakes there is a rod going from the brake pedel to a bolt going into the transmition with a adjusting nut for tensionon on a spring when I removed the spring and remove the brake rod the arm rotates freely freely on the bolt
I thought that the brake was connected in side the transmision but it seems that this rod & lever has nothing to do with a brake
has any one run into a situation like this
Also does anyone know where I can get a repair manual for this machine

The lever on the side of the tranny is the brake. If you tighten the nut in the middle, it adjusts the brake tighter. If the brake is frozen (if the mower has been unused and in the weather for a long time), then the brake assembly may need to be removed from the side of the tranny and taken apart and unstuck. Might even need new pads.
