briggs won't start
I need help with briggs & stratton 12 hp electronic carb. Riding mower ran out of gas. After filling it up, it wouldn't start. I took the carb apart, cleaned with carb cleaner and put back together. It started, but shut down after about 10 minutes of cutting grass. The next day, there was gas in the air cleaner housing, about 1" deep. The solenoid seems to be working ok. After putting carb together, heard the clicking when turning on the key.
Need help. The grass is already a foot tall.

You need to remove the spark plug and get the gas out of the cylinder so it can turn. There is probably also gas in the oil now, so check it. If it smells like gas, change it. Before doing all this, you need to fix the carb leak. The needle is leaking.

The Needle valve is not seating.
Replace the Needle and your problem will go away.
But now you have to get all the Gas out of the crank case and put new oil in. Do that immediatly after replacing the Needle.

that solenoid does not prevent flooding due to needle/seat issues. It just cuts fuel to the main nozzle to prevent backfire at shut down. Fix needle/seat (maybe just crap in the bowl) and add a real shutoff valve and use it when not mowing.
