Craftsman riding mower starting problem
I have a Craftsman 19.5 Hp twin Turbo riding mower. Everthing works just fine but I have to jump it to start it! The battery shows 12.6 on my multi meter but nothing happens when I try to start it? Jump it and away she goes so I think all systems are ok but even with battery showing 12.6 it just doesn't have enough jam to start it??Anyone have any thoughts??Thanks

What model engine is on this? If it's an overhead valve engine, you need to adjust the valves. I only recall seeing twin turbo on flatheads though, so if that's what this is, I would say the starter needs a new end cap on the drive end.

How old is your battery? Even a battery near the end of it's life can show good voltage when at rest but die when put under a load. Most auto parts stores will load test a battery for free.
Have you cleaned & tightened the cable connections at the battery, starter and solenoid? Dirty, loose or corroded connections can prevent the full power of the battery from making it to the starter.

Hi Guys
Thanks for your help. I think the battery is the problem. Shows ok as you have said but just doesn't have enough jam to do the job! Trying to charge it up now and if that doesn't work I guess it's a new battery!!
