Hello my dad and I bought a cub cadet 2156 from a garage sale and the motor was basically blown but the oil pressure light stayed on. So we took off all the covers and then took the filter off and cranked it over with a battery charger and no we have no oil pressure. Any tips or information helps. Thanks Patrick!!

If the engine is blown, you will not necessarily have oil pressure. Not sure what you're trying to accomplish. The engine is probably no good.

Hello Patrick,
I concur with Mr Cheese...... If the low oil light was on you didn't have oil pressure to start with, How are you testing for oil pressure ?

well I'm not positive that it was blown thats what the neighbor said and he didn't seem to know much about it but it would start and I drove it over from their house to mine fine but when it ran it like vibrated inside or made a noise it wasn't supposed to but we parked it for a little bit and then attempted to back it into our shop and it wouldn't start...... and we were turning it over with a battery charger and my dad said that oil is supposed to drip out and into the filter but Idk..... anyone have any further advice!

I assume it is full of oil? If it's knocking and there is no oil pressure, it's time to open it up and see how bad the damage is, or stick another engine on it.

yeah when you check the oil with the dipstick there is oil but the oil light stays on. we also had a cylinder without compression when the spark plug was out and the head was on..... but when we took the head off we had great compression!

Granted this is the first motor newer motor i've worked on and don't know all the right names for stuff..... but when we took the valves off and the piston went up and down and had a good suction feeling. I know I'm probably wrong in all the names of things but the main problem we had is we have no oil pressure
