craftsman 917271024 no spark
15.5 kohler replaced seat switch and interlock switch ,gets gas, no spark ,plug good. died while mowing turns over fine, new battery.

Bingo, Unpluged kill wire to coil fired right up. Now to replace the 2nd interlock switch on the brake. Thanks Cheese you made my day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Replacing that switch won't fix it. It doesn't kill the engine. There are relays under the dash area on many kohler equipped craftsmans, and I suspect one of these is bad.
