Dynamark w/12hp B&S engine. Will not charge battery.....help
I had a small fire where all the wires go behind the dipstick. So I cut out all the burned wires and replaced them not realizing there was some sort of diode controlling the electrical power to the battery. Now it will not charge the battery. I can not afford to buy a diode from the local B&S dealer for $40.
What I want to know is what is this diode. I'm certain I can buy one at Radio Shack or an electrical supply place for a buck.
Can anyone identify this diode for me? I can't seem to find an electrical diagram either.

All Diodes do the same thing..,, get one that can handle the current of your charging system & you,ll be fine...
