Pull Starter
Did Briggs and Stratton make a pull starter for a 15 hp ohv craftsman? Still having starter problems and trying to find a easier solution. Thanks!

I can't directly answer your question but on the front of that Briggs and Stratton engine there should be a model, type and code numbers. If you post those it would help look up a parts list. Hang on and the folks that do this every day will be along...
On a side note, that sure looks like a 14.5 hp briggs I once saw that had a pull start on it so I am betting one will fit.

I know that they are cheap and I can get a bunch at a time but I don't want to replace starter gears every time I cut the grass. With the aluminum flywheel which is best? plastic? steel? Thanks for all your help, maybe I'll just take it to a B&S Distributor.

The plastic gear is what needs to be on it with the aluminum flywheel. Starter gear replacement isn't something that should have to be done more than maybe once over the lifetime of the engine. Check your flywheel teeth for missing, broken, or otherwise damaged teeth.
