Murray drive belt for model 40705x99a

I haven't been able to figure out how to replace the drive belt on a Murray riding mower model 40705X99A. Can someone please help? I have a belt, just can't figure out how to get it around the Q2 Pulley and route it properly. The previous belt shredded.

Put the belt on the engine pulley first and lock the brake pedal down, it should then go around the others easily.

IPL looks like routing is pretty simple. Around Q2 23 on transaxle , inside idler 23 and up to engine. As cheese said putting brake on should move idler out and give slack. You try on q2 first and then the engine. Pull sparkplug so you can rotate engine pulley as you put the belt on it. There may be guides that need removing to allow space for belt to go on the pulleys.

Broken Drive Belt on Swisher Mower

The drive belt on my Swisher zero turn, 27 HP, 60-inch cut mower broke. Anyone have experience on how to go about replacing it? This is the second belt I've had chewed to pieces on this mower. Took it to a lawnmower repair shop first time but can't afford to do that every few months. I hope to replace it with a Kevlar belt this time. Model No. is: ZT2760 KP/BP. Swisher site was no help. Toro 521 snowblower after 15 years

I have been working on my father's old Toro 521 snowblower that has not run for about 15 years. I replaced the fuel lines, changed the oil, new gas, inflated the tires and gave her a few pulls. She started (no smoke) and after a minute or two I slowly increased the throttle. When she got up to full throttle she ran for about 30 sections. When I tried to engaged the blades she died out. I tried to pull start a few more times, but then the pull cord ripped apart (dry rot it looked like). I was able to replace that, but I think with a slightly thicker rope (1/16" or so thicker maybe). Two questions. I'm wondering if the slightly thicker rope is going to cause any issues. It didn't seem like when I was pull starting it the rope came out as far (rope was slightly longer if anything, and wound up the same way). Also thoughts on what would cause it to die out when the blades were about to be engaged? (not sure if it actually had anything to do with the blades or not). ThanksRead More
