Cub Cadet LT 1042

My cub cadet deck belt keeps slipping off and I really need to fix it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello 7lucky11,

The Cub LT1042 was built quite a few years and with different deck drive configurations, If you lift the seat and look on the fender or under the seat pan you will find a white model number tag.

Posting BOTH the model AND serial numbers will tell us exactly what year machine and configuration you are working with......

If this is the original belt, it may have stretched to the point that it will continue to pop off, and needs to be replaced. But also check the alignment of all the pulleys to be sure that none are tilted in comparison to the others. Also check that the spring on the idler pulley is pulling everything tight enough, somethimes that spring will stretch out causing a loose belt.
