Poulan weedeater won't start

Hey guys. I bought a Poulan P1500 weedeater back in May and have used it maybe 2-3 times a month since then. Yesterday I used it to trim my front yard with no problems at all. It started like always on the first or second pull and ran just fine.

Today I wanted to trim the backyard but it will not start. It has good gas. I have no idea why it will not start since it ran fine yesterday. The kill switch is not engaged, the primer bulb is fine, I tried a new spark plug and the problem persists.

What else should I do? I don't really want to take it somewhere to be fixed since I just need to trim a few areas in my yard and I'll be done for the season after that.

Check that the fuel line has not cracked or separated in the tank, try pumping the primer bulb and watch for air bubbles if no problem with fuel lines, remove the spark plug and crank the engine several time to remove excess fuel from the fuel circuit. Have a good one. Geo

Where should I look for bubbles? In the primer bulb or coming back into the tank from the primer bulb?

Thanks.

I had a similar problem with a Sears unit which I believe is made by Poulan. My issues was with the two screws that hold the carb on to the plastic block that attaches the carb to the engine. One of mine was loose and then got overtightened. I used glue to hold the screw in place and it worked for several months. It came loose again so I'm replacing the plastic block and gaskets.

I did a little brainstorming and decided to try a fresh gas/oil mixture before I went any further. My gas can got left out in the rain on accident a few weeks ago but the first time I filled my weedeater up using that gas can it ran fine. However, when I needed to refill the weedeater's tank I completely emptied out all of the gas in the can into my weedeater's gas tank. My theory was that water droplets may have been floating near the bottom of my gas can since it got left out in the rain and when I poured all of the remaining gas into my weedeater's tank then water droplets may have also gotten in it which prevented the Poulan from starting.

So I dumped out the gas that was in the Poulan's tank and put in a fresh gas/oil mix. It started right up on the first try and ran nice and strong for the entire 2 hours I used it. So if you have a fairly new weedeater that won't start, check your gas first before you try anything more difficult.

Thanks for all of the suggestions, I'll be sure and save this page.
