lawnboy silverpro series recoil is not engaging every time

Hello everyone First post here. Need help.

I have a 10 year old lawnboy. Great mower. However the rewind is not catching every time. If I pull it a couple of times I can get it to catch. What is the fix? I know I cannot get by on luck for the rest of the season. Lots of leaves and stuff on the lawn to get cleaned up before any more snow comes

Any tips on where to look first?

Take the recoil starter off and see. It may just need the center retainer tightened. If it is a screw on type, it may be loose. If it is pressed in, it may need to be pressed a bit further in.

Hello! I've got an Allis Chalmers 917 garden tractor with a Kohler KT17 engine that all of a sudden started drawing oil up into the air filter and saturating it causing smoking and stalling of course. I did a compression check and both cylinders were equal at 90#. I can't see anything else wrong and the manual isn't much help. Could the breather be bad? Is it like a check valve? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Poulan weedeater won't start

Hey guys. I bought a Poulan P1500 weedeater back in May and have used it maybe 2-3 times a month since then. Yesterday I used it to trim my front yard with no problems at all. It started like always on the first or second pull and ran just fine. Today I wanted to trim the backyard but it will not start. It has good gas. I have no idea why it will not start since it ran fine yesterday. The kill switch is not engaged, the primer bulb is fine, I tried a new spark plug and the problem persists. What else should I do? I don't really want to take it somewhere to be fixed since I just need to trim a few areas in my yard and I'll be done for the season after that.
