Toro Mower with Briggs and Stratton Engine won't retain Oil?

I bought a Toro Walk Behind Mower back in May 2012. Worked fine for a bit, but recently white smoke began coming out of the Muffler. Upon further inspection I noticed Oil was leaking out of the Air Filter area. I figured I just overfilled it with Oil..right? Well I checked the Oil level and found that there was none. No Oil what so ever. I put in more Oil and checked again..sure enough it was all gone. Like I mentioned before it would be an easy fix if I just overfilled, but I never had it happen before where it wouldn't retain any Oil...? I don't remember doing anything...ie tipping, etc..to make this happen..Warranty issue? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Most likely blowby, caused by worn cylinder/rings, bad breather, or over-revving.
