I have a husqvarna 353 chain saw that has a scorned cylinder. Looking online for the parts and the OEM kit is roughly $225 compared to the aftermarket kit which is half that. The OEM kit is more than half the price of saw brand new.
Is the quality that much better? Please give me your thoughts.
Thanks in advance.

The Husqvarna 353 is made in the USA I believe. OEM parts = USA, Aftermarket parts = China. I've never used aftermarket cylinder kits on a saw, so I can't say what the quality is, but based on past experience with most anything made in china, I wouldn't be comfortable with it. Pay now or pay later might be the appropriate phrase here.
