craftsman 536-886260 starts but stalls
My craftsman 536-886260 9hp snowblower will start grudgingly and only with the electric start. It will run for a half minute sometimes longer but has a lot of afterfiring and then it stalls.

It's likely a standard case of carb needing cleaning. Seasonal use equipment gets varnish build up with today's fuels.
Some are inclined to dismantle and clean them with spray cleaner. Or you can try a fuel additive to clean it on the engine.
As a rule I try Sea Foam first. It's easy to use and gives very good results to my way of thinking. If you have a fuel filter in place there shouldn't be dirt in the jets, although rust can still be a problem. For the latter you'd have to dismantle the carburetor.
It can also be a plugged fuel cap vent (loosen to check) or plugged lines/tank, etc.
