Snowblower problem = Impeller and blades don't engage.

I have a 10.5HP MTD made snowblower.

I just finished running over the dog's cable (clothesline cable), buried under 1 1/2 feet of snow.

I thought I had broken a shear pin as the blower stopped blowing.

However the shear pins are fine as are the spiral pins (spring-pins/roll-pins) on the worm shaft.

The impeller turns smoothly and engages the axel which turns freely. There is nothing wedged behind the impeller.

The cable that engages the impeller/auger blades seems fine.

Where do I go from here???

The augers&impeller

Check the friction disc to see if it is engaged. You should no be able to move the driven disc if the friction disc is putting pressure on it without moving the whole drive train. To get at it you will have to stand it up, secure it, and remove the bottom cover for a look see.

Just had a chance to open her up. There is a belt that is no longer around any pulleys and is in rough shape. Now to get it off and figure out where the new one (assuming I can get one locally) feeds on.

Thanks for your help! Wish me luck.
