Help please! I've got an Ariens Snow-tek snowblower from home depot ; not good traction in deep snow. ordered chains Amazon, supposed to fit; but they seem too big for the wheels. Cannot get them tightly on. is there a special trick?
home depot;
Sno-Tek 24 in. Two-Stage Electric Start Gas Snow Blower
Model # 920402
Internet # 202222489
Store SKU # 629254
tires are 13" x 4"
this is chain product description from Amazon.com;
Tire Chains 13 x 500 x 6 / 12.5 x 450 x 6 Snow/Mud
now i see, i ordered 13 x 6 chains for a 13 x 4 tire...probably not worth my trying to modify them , right? they were only $30. don't know why i thought they would fit. any advice? thanks, pdoyle

Sounds like you would need to pull at least one link out all around the circumference. That would mean cutting and welding or brazing chain.
Could be an easy job if you had the right tools.
Or maybe just cutting, removing and rebending exisiting links.
