chain saw wont stay running and its hard to start
I have a Mccullah Mac Cat 2.3 38 cc chainsaw that I cant keep it running.I have replaced both fuel lines, primer ,fuel filter, rebuilt carb and have fresh fuel in it.When I try to start it up it will run at high idle for about 2 or 3 seconds and then stall out.I have tryed to adjust carb but i cant keep it running long enough to adjust it.Ive tryed turnning adjusting screws out 1 1/2 turns and even 2 turns but it still wont stay running.Any suggestion would be appreciated.By the way im new to this forum.

Welcome to the Forum. Did you test to see if gas will flow through screen in carburetor? Sometimes when the ethanol gas gets used it coats that screen with a film and gas won't flow through it. Dribble a little gas on screen and then push open the needle to see if it flows. Also check all gaskets to make sure carburetor is getting max vacuum. Good luck.

High idle like that is often due to an air leak. Spray carb cleaner around gaskets and see if it runs better. Also, the crankshaft seals may be hard, rotten, and leaking air.
