Disconnect Asm rod bypass will not release
I have a Craftsman Lawn tractor 18 hp, 42" cut, Mod#917.273404, Auto trans-mission. The disconnect Asm Rod Bypass does not release when I pull it out. It will hook as it is suppose to, but wheels will not turn. It is very hard to pull out. It has been hard to pull always. It quit unlocking shortly after I bought it. Just never messed with the warranty. Any help anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The rod is attached to a spring that pulls a lever on the tranny. Look under there and see if the lever is actually moving. It can be stuck and cause your problem, usually freeing up easily with some persuasion and penetrating oil.
