2 oil fills on Troy bilt 5550 generator ?

I noticed on my Troy bilt 5550 Generator with Briggs and Stratton 10 hp engine that there seem to be a removable oil fill cap on both sides of the genertor motor. The one is full up to the top which I know is how you tell when you have the right amount of oil but the other side is not filled to the top. I was wondering what it is for ? When changing oil do you have to do anything with the 2nd oil fill location ? Confused.

thanks much JIMJI

The engine has a fill on either side so that it can be accessed in different applications (tiller, generator, pump, etc...) One fill plug may be covered by the equipment in some applications. Fill and check them both the same way, whichever one you use. If one shows a different level, the engine is tilted a bit one way or the other.
