craftsman 38" Mower Mandrel Replacement

Ok, picked up an old craftman mower in good shape, bearings in one mandrel are in bad shape. Can anyone tell me if I can replace the bearings or do I have to replace the whole mandrel? I can't find the part number or a place to buy the mandrel. Could use some help.

model: 917.255520
serial: 2411S51107

Read on a site I can also tap a grease fitting into the mandrel and fill it up with grease.
Also, it looks like the pulley is welded to the mandrel shaft not bolted on like the newer ones.

Thanks

That older one with the welded pulley is only replaceable as an assembly (the whole mandrel). Part number is 121687X.

well, punching in the number in google pulls up a zillion places to buy it, but the best place might be your local small engine shop.
