Pressure washer

I have a troybuilt pressure washer and it will not offer to crank.I have noticed that there is no resistance when trying to crank as in the past there would be some pressure when trying to crank. It doesn't offer to fire at all. Thanks for your help

Was the unit running and then crapped out or it was working fine and now it won't start ?

Sounds like the engine is blown. Did it run out of oil? Check to see if the piston is moving.

Troy Bilt pressure washer

I hadn't used in 2 or 3 months so i decided to pressure wash Truck. To keep from letting the water pressure build up until i could get it cranked i tied gun lever to on position while getting it cranked after getting cranked i still noticed no water coming out end of nozzle & every time i took it of choke it would shut off & finally shut off and that's when i noticed no pressure build up with lever not tied off & has not offered to fire again. Thanks for your help.
Also how do i determine if piston is moving.

What about the oil question? I don't know what engine you have, so I can't really give much advice about the piston other than stick a straw or pencil in the plug hole until it hits the piston and see if it moves when you turn the engine.

Yeah, I think you blew the engine. Time for a new pressure washer.

I don't know, if there is no resistance when you try to crank it, then it probably is. Check to see if the piston is moving and you'll know for sure.

Well that's a good sign. Does the engine have any compression at all? We still don't know what engine you have. Is it OHV? Could be a push rod bent or it may have a valve guide that came loose and is holding a valve open.

I took pump off & put back on 3 times & every time pump was off it would crank & run good but with pump on it will not crank. When its on choke with pump on it will crank & run for 2 or 3 seconds and shut off & won't offer to fire again untill it sets about 3 min.will not offer to crank unless it in choke position.

Okay, I thought there was no resistance when you pull the rope, but it runs?
