Honda gx140 wont start

Hey I have been working on my honda motor checking everything making sure that it would be ready to run, i have good spark, air, oil, and I have cleaned to carb twice. I have put gas down the top end where the spark plug goes to see if it will fire but it wont fire. Any suggestions?

If it won't fire when you manually put gas in the carb throat or down in the spark plug hole I usually suspect spark/ignition. Fist I'd check the obvious like the kill switch and make sure it's wire is not shorting on the engine somewhere. Then if you are certain that you have a good spark plug and are getting spark I would look at compression and the valves. How does it feel when you pull the starter? Do you feel the resistance as it comes up on compression? Has anything bad happened to the motor (sudden stoppage) or did it have trouble starting the last time you used it?

Hondas are known for not starting even if the old plug shows spark out of the engine.. They are also very sensitive to air filters.. I would recomend replacing the Plug & Air filter & try it again.... Roger
