Best riding mower for a 4 to 5 acre yard.

What are the best mowers under $5000. I have a big yard but can't afford to buy a $10,000 mower. I have a old John Deere LX 188 but it is torn up and would rather buy a new mower than spend a ton fixing a old worn out mower.

Welcome to the forums! Good lawn mowers in your price range abound pretty much anywhere. "Good, best"?? Difficult to tell. I have about 6 acres and will probably be buried with my Kubota 60" diesel ZTR They are a little pricey, but there's no lawn mower that can hold a candle to a good ZTR. I found mine from an individual for about what you are willing to spend.

I formerly cut mine with my Ford 640 with a finish mower.....took 2 1/2 hours, and then I had to trim around all the fruit trees (numerous). With the ZTR, 1.25 hours and all 63 blueberry bushes, 45 fruit trees, grape arbors, etc. are trimmed. BAM, back in the barn. It has a cup holder, too.
