mower dont move

i have a craftsman riding mower that the rearend locked up on me how do i fix it when u pick up rearend and try to spin the wheels thay go in opp. dir. some body help please my wife wont cut the lawn without it....lol

That is normal that the wheels should spin in opp direction, but the brakes could be locked up. Make sure brake pedal is off park, put transmission netrual (if transmission is a Hydro or automatic pull the pin in back to push) and rock it back and forth, sometimes they will release. If that doesn't work take brake assembly off and check and clean pins that push brake pad in, also while brake is apart, try it to see if it will move. These brakes are bad about locking up.
