Briggs 18hp - carb not getting gas
Briggs (18HP) Engine #422707-1522-01
Carb overhaul kit #694056
So in another post here I mention rebuilding the fuel pump. Got that all finished, and put back together. It ran great for about 30-45 minutes then quit on me.
Today I tried starting it and it wont start. Turns over fine, just not starting. I pulled off the top of the carb and noticed where the float is, is bone dry.
Another thing I noticed is, my fuel filter seemed to be pulling air from the tank line? (I did change the filter when I rebuilt the carb, but I noticed the one I bought was slightly larger than the original I had.. is this a possible problem too?)
Any advice is appreciated!
Thanks

Hello again No_Smoking,
We know you now have the fuel pump assembled correctly since you mowed that amount of time, Fuel filter size makes no difference. Check your fuel tank for debre such as leaves-bugs or anything that can restrict fuel flow, Also make sure the fuel cap is venting properly.
I just performed a tune & service on a gravity feed machine last week, After installing a new fuel filter it leaked at the seam where assembled. A fuel pump system could suck air and no fuel, You could remove the filter and put your finger on one end then suck on the other and put your tongue over it to see if it holds a vacuum.....
Good Luck
