Have you checked the fluid level, when's the last time the hyd. filter and pump drive belt was changed?

First, check the belt and it's tension. If it is loose you can loose much of your driving power as the belt slips when climbing hills, accelerating or driving fast. Sometimes the belt can slap and wiggle around making some bad sounds.

After that about all you can somewhat easily do is check the oil level since I don't think you have a replaceable filter on the outside. Beyond that I hope others have some ideas because everything else I'm thinking is internal to the hydrostat.
