Kohler Command 17.5 stalling

Kohler Command 17.5 stalling
My lawnmower starts up fine, runs for a couple of minutes and then dies. As she is stating to die if I put the lever to choke she picks up and runs a little longer and then dies. If she sits for a little while she will start up again but only for a couple of minutes.
I pulled the fuel filter and it's fine. I checked the spark plug and it's fine as well.
Any suggestions?

Hello whalerbob,
Before pulling the carb apart loosen the gas cap and see if it will continue running, If so check the cap vent for obstructions.....
