Electric PTOfor Troy Built riding mower

I just aquired a Troy Built mower and the previous owner said he ran over a dog chain and broke the shear pin. I have the deck off and am looking at the PTO at the bottomof the engine.

I do not see any shear pin.

When the knob to engage is pulled out on the console, the PTO clutch does not spin.

What is my next step?? Remove the clutch assy?

Is there a way to insure that the wiring is not the issue?

There is no shear pin for the PTO. The clutch is keyed to the crankshaft, but I doubt that is sheared. Could be though. Is there voltage going to the clutch?

I have a Grasshopper zero turn mower with a Kohler 21 HP gas powered engine. The engine drains the battery when in use so I'm guessing the rectifier/voltage regulator is bad.. :confused: Not sure where the rectifier is, took a quick look today and couldn't find anything that looks like it. If there is any other reason the silly thing won't charge I'm at a loss as to what it could be. Battery charges up with a charger but after mowing for an hour when I turn it off it won't start again. The battery is new so it's not the problem, any ideas? You guys helped me fix my Craftsman riding mower carb problem so I'm hoping someone knows something about my latest problem. Thanks

I've had a lot of my issues solved on these forums through others' posts, but this mower is presenting a real challenge. Mower is a Craftsman LT 1000 with a 17 HP OHV Briggs and Stratton engine. To start, the starter solenoid sparked and the mower would not start. I replaced the solenoid. After that, the engine had too much compression and would not turn over. I fixed the magneto space between the flywheel because they were touching and did valve adjustment. This solved the compression problem. While solving doing these things, I took off and cleaned the carb and air intake. Now, the engine will turn over fine but won't start. The spark plug is new and has a spark. I've put gas directly into the engine though the spark plug and I hear a pop or two each time I do this. Any solutions to this? Thank you.
