Pto will not disengage

I have a TroyBilt Bronco 42 in mower and the blades will not disengage even with the PTO lever in off position. I had recently dropped the deck to replace blades and thought I reconnected everything correctly. Any idea what I missed of placed wrong.

I'd say your belt is on wrong or the moving parts that turn the blades on are stuck.

Check your deck to see if any return springs are missing or broken, or if the return mechanism is hung up because of dirt.

I would check to see if the spindles are moving smoothly and there isn't anything wrapped around the spindles. Check to see if the belt was routed properly as this might cause the blades to not turn when they are engaged.
