craftsman lawn tractor drive problem
I am having a problem with the drive on my craftsman tractor model 917. 272420. I have changed the drive belt and also purged the transmission. The tractor will go forward and backwards but with very little power especially going up a hill. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The new belt is loose with the brake on but seems tight when its off but its hard to tell because it is spinning. Is there a good way to tell if its tight enough?
