snapper yard cruiser electric clutch

we bought this used snapper mower and are told the clutch is weak on it, we think it may need to be replaced soon. we also learned that this is the third clutch in the recent past. my questions are : 1.) are these notorious for bad clutches? 2.)are these clutches in fact $350? 3.)can someone explain how to replace them, are they a lot of work? thank you very much

Some clutches are pretty expensive but suitable replacements can be had cheaper. Usually an electric PTO clutch lasts the life of the mower or close to it. The cheaper non-adjustable ones don't last as long.
