18 h/p briggs and stratton bent rod and broken lift
hi I have an 18 ph. brigs and Stratton tractor the lower rod bent and the upper valve lift broke I replaced both and the motor started right up and run for about 10 seconds then the same thing happened bent lower rod and broke upper valve lift
any idea what could be the problem???????

Not sure what you're referring to as the upper valve lift. The rocker arm? If so, it sounds like you either have a valve that is sticking and doesn't want to move, or a valve guide has slipped out toward the rocker arm and is keeping the valve from moving down.
