craftsman LT 2000 stalled, won't start

I have a Craftsman LT 2000 riding mower, 2011. Wife was mowing the lawn and the mower just shut off. Now it will not start. The starter will turn the engine but the is no attempt to fire. Pulled the plug, has plenty of spark. Holding thumb over plug hole there is compression, and there is gas, Plug is wet and when checking compression hand is covered with gas. Cleaned the air filter. When turning the key the starter turns the engine but still no firing.
I make one assumption: if I get spark than all the interlocks are ok.
All out of ideas, Help.

If gas covered your hand when checking compression, the carburetor is flooding. You'll need to fix the carb problem and clear the gas out of the engine to get it going again.

Most likely the floats stuck or leaking by. Carburetor needs to be removed, cleaned and rebuilt.
