kohler cv20s engine will not charge

Pulled magneto only to find 4 of the 6 magnets stuck very neatly to the stator. I noticed all magnets had a yellow mark on one side. Asked local shops how to reattach, said easy to do. Never mentioned the relationship of the mags. that is + - - +. At this point I need help in I.D.ing the polarity of these 6 mags. What do I look for or do I determine polarity in a different manor? Then reattach because the motor doesnt put out any AC or DC from the regulator. The fist time i attached I affixed w/ all mags showing the yellow dot on the same side. Thanks B.

Sand the surface under the flywheel where they attach until clean. Mix some JB weld and spread thinly on the back of the magnets and install as you said. If you have them oriented properly, they will repel the magnet next to them, not attract them. (opposites attract).

Thanks that's what I will do, been thinking way too much bout this. It just make sense to have alternating mag. since it is alternating current. Everything else is OK in the system, thanks for the common sense help. Bob.
