Honda HRB215 Lawnmower won't stay running
This is probably close to a 20 year old mower, it has worked great in the past and I keep it well maintained. Recently the muffler fell off, I have new parts coming.
When I try to start it now, I choke it and it will start up and run for about 5-7 seconds, then it cuts off. I've let it sit for awhile & try again, same result. The gas is good (I drained and used fresh), oil is new, air filter clean.
Any thoughts on what to do? I'll throw in a little carb cleaner, but more than likely it looks like a trip to the small engine store or a new mower.

Are you trying to run this without the muffler? That will effect the performance because of lack of back pressure.
Removing, cleaning and rebuilding the carburetor may be in order.
Just dumping a cleaner in the tank or spraying it is not going to fix it.

If it ran before the muffler fell off I would certainly wait until the new one arrives before doing much. Install the muffler and see if it runs. Then post back with what it is or is not doing.

Put a new plug in it first... there's a whole 2 or 3 page thread about this problem on hondas caused by the plug.
