Craftsman 6.75 HP push mower won't start.
I have a one year old Craftsman 21 inch push mower with a Briggs and Stratton engine. There is no choke or throttle on it. You push down on the handle and pull it once to start it. I have used it several times this year and today I started it and made one pass on the lawn. On the second pass it sputtered and died. I pulled it over three times and it started, sputtered and would not start anymore. I have fresh clean gas in it and as I said it has run for 3 or 4 hours this year without a problem, started on first pull and ran for a couple of minutes.
Any help would be appreciated. Normally I would check the choke etc but these new ones don't have a choke or anything else like the old ones.
Regards,
Long Lawn!

Does it have spark? Does it have a clean filter? Engine model? The choke might be sticking, could be water in the gas, could be the kill switch not being released...

Yes I checked it all
I stopped by my local autoparts store and asked for a spark plug and when the counter person looked it up he asked me what the problem was. He told me not to worry and sold me an 8.99 can on something. I will have to go find it in the shed later on. He told me not to do anything but add half a can of this to the gas and let it sit 2 hours before I try to start it. I said I had already put some seafoam in the gas and he said that wouldn't hurt. I stopped over at my house at 10:00 am, did what he said and went to work. At 5:30 when I got home I gave the mower one pull, it started and cut the whole lawn. I turned it off a couple times when i was done and restarted it. I even hosed it down and it fired right up. I will get the name of the product later and post it.

Hi bstortz, please do let us know what that product was if you get the chance. I'm having a similar problem/symptoms with a push mower (can't remember brand of mower actually) that I use in spots where my riding mower can't reach. It's pretty beat up (cosmetically, also alot of rust, missing grass flap, dull blade etc.) and I'm close to just trashing it and picking one up off craigslist or something. I wouldn't mind trying a can of something easy for ten bucks though just to see if I can get through the rest of this season (maybe next if I'm lucky) without having to worry about it though. Thanks.

Briggs & Stratton 6.75 HP doesn't start?! Name of gas additive?
So I'm reading the threads trying to figure out what I can do to make my year old Craftsman mower start and you leave me hanging! Single mom, so I have to do everything, including figuring out how to save a buck fixing a mower! Youtube videos are very helpful! And thinking about getting some Seaform. My mower sputtered then died. Need advice!

Most likely the product was seafoam. I don't normally recommend additives, but seafoam really does work.

bstortz, what was the name of the product that fix your problem?
cheese, bstortz said in his post that he used seafoam and did not work.
I am having the same problem with the same lawn mower model.
