Propane Weed Burner - Can't get Good Flame

I have a propane weed burner that is probably plugged. It flames for just a couple seconds, then the flame dies way back - doesn't go out, but not enough to burn any weeds either. I found some wire small enough to run up the small orifice at the tip where the fire comes out, but that didn't help and I don't know where to check now.

It's this torch.

Sounds to me like the end that goes to the tank is restricted. That's why it blows well for a few seconds and slows down. The pressure fills the hose slowly, then when you hit the trigger it blows out until the pressure in the hose is lost. Is it connected to a regulator? If so, it may be bad.

I dunno. What's a regulator look like? There's a valve right above the trigger that you adjust the flame with.
