Mower Motor - B&S Engine model 9P702 0005 F1 or Honda GCV160
Team - I have had carb problems with my B&S 9P702 and I have a new one now (replaced by Lowes) that is starting and running fine. I did notice it used some oil after about 20 hours of running using 30 weight oil. I had a B&S Briggs that run for 10 years with out ever using oil. All that said this using oil before the warranty runs out bothers me. Do you see this problem normally on a new mower??
Now is one much better served by getting the Honda motor model GCV160?? Need your thoughts.

That engine hasn't been around for very long, so I can't comment on a track record just yet. Comparing a bottom of the line briggs to a bottom line honda though... honda gets the nod every time.
Dirt entering past the air filter is usually why one starts using oil.
