Question Pulling flywheel on Statesman riding mower

I have a mid 90's Stateman 16/42 mower on which the starter blew. I need to pull the flywheel to access the last starter bolt, but I cannot get a grip anywhere to counter the breaking of the nut.

Does anyone know how to get this puppy off? Picture of said flywheel below. Starter is bottom right of the motor.

Thanks!

Remove the spark plug and fill the cylinder with small rope like starter rope and leave a little hanging out when you try to turn the flywheel bolt it will compress the rope and the engine will lock, when finished remove the rope and nothing will have gotten broke. Have a good one. Geo
