Question Snapper LX170H Hydro transmission

The transmission on this mower locked up during use and actually stalled the engine. Pulling the neutral release lever does not make any difference, and I am not sure that it is even operating.

After this happened once, I was trying to locate the problem and it somehow released. I began mowing again and about 15 minutes later it locked and stalled the engine again. This time, I have not been able to get it released.

Sounds like either the brake is sticking or something inside is jamming.

Unhappy

The brakes are loose and the Neutral release on the hydro pump is working, but the tranny is still locked up. I suspect this is the end of this machine. I have used it six years after its original owner replaced it with a new one.

Yep, I'd be thinking the bearings on the input shaft fell out of place or a piece of something got stuck between the gears.
