MTD Replace Friction Wheel Rubber

I have a MTD Snow Thrower Model 352e740f352. My goal is to replace the friction wheel rubber before I damage the friction wheel plate. I have been guided by a MTD E740F manual FORM NO. 770-10004C.fm (6/00). So far I have drained the gasoline, tipped the blower up on it's housing, removed the back wheels and tracks, and have loosened but not removed the hex bolt and bell washer from the left end of the gear shaft. I have lightly and not so lightly tapped the hex bolt on the left side of the gear shaft, which is supposed to dislodge the bearing from the right side of the frame, but it doesn't. Without removing the shaft I can't replace the rubber. Can you Help?

After thoroughly reviewing the schematics, used WD40 on both sides of the bearing and let it set overnight. The next day I lightly tapped the hex bolt on the left side of the gear shaft and the bearing came out with ease. I replaced the rubber friction wheel, Re-assembled and tested the snow thrower. It works great.
