What are you referring to when you say they don't align when cranking the engine over?

Hello Ronmac1117,

As long as you align all the marks as below you shouldn't have any issue..... Now..... Rotating the crank one revolution from TDC compression will put you on exhaust stroke, Rotating another revolution will put you back at TDC compression and re-align the timing marks.....

Good Luck

Sir, Have done all the above and it still want crank, let me go over one more time, If I am sitting in front of spark plug hole and align gears with the timing notches on crank with the crank keyway straight toward me and piston top center, then you say it should crank, but it has a bad kick back and only pops. something I am doing is just not right, told ya`ll I was an old gizzer , hard to figure this out, lol
