Murray riding mower won't stay running with blades engaged.

It will crank and run until I engage the blades. Any ideas?

I will check those. It will cut grass for about ten feet then slowly dies.

The "slowly dies" part makes me think you have a fuel problem. Check flow to the carb. If good, see if the carb needs cleaning.

Remove the cap to the fuel tank and try it again to rule out a fuel tank ventilation problem. Perhaps the ventilation is not fully clogged and allows an idle operation but the increased fuel demand of the blades is too much for it. Anyway, easy check. Good luck.
