No Spark While Cranking

8hp Briggs, with magneto ignition and magnetron coil (no contact points). While cranking, no spark. Release the starter, and a spark per revolution while the crankshaft spins down. No play in crankshaft bearings. And of course, a magneto ignition does not require battery voltage to generate a spark. This also happens with the kill wire disconnected.

Generally I would say you have a bad switch, but if it does this with the kill wire unplugged from the coil, then you have a bad coil.
