riding mower wont fire

hey cheese I have a craftsman lt1000 12.5hp I/c Gold model# 286707 ok the problem is that when I turn the key the engine turns but it wont fire at all just looks like the engine is turning can you help me

#1 Make sure the plug is getting spark.
Check the oil level, most have a low oil shut off.
90% of the time it a problem with the carburetor. Remove the bowl on the bottom of it, fuel should be running out, lift the float and it should shut off.
More often then not it due to be rebuilt or replaced.

Does it have compression? Put your finger over the spark plug hole while cranking it and see if you feel compression.
