Homelite leaf blower

Hi All, I have a Homelite leaf blower with a Walboro 6-602 which won't start, I have removed the carb, the primer bulb fills after pumping the the suggested 7 times,if I continue pumping the prime bulb I would think that the carb should flood which it doesn't, am I wrong to think this?

#1 Check to see of the spark plug is getting a spark.
At least 90% of the time it's the carburetor messing up because of ethanol fuel.
Replace it or rebuilt it. Ethanol causes gelling and moisture build up causing corrosion.
Use nonethanol fuel or add an additive to stop the effects of it.
Any auto parts store, Wal-Mart, or any place that sells power tools will have it.

The primer on small 2-cycles is a purge pump rather than a primer, it purges air from the carb and makes fuel available in the carb, the primer pulls fuel from the tank, through the carb and returns it back to the tank. Have a good one. Geo

How can I be sure the purge pump is working?the only whey I was able to start it was to hold my thumb over the carb and pull the starter rope until the carb flooded and then it started. The other problem is that I can't get it to idle.

If the pump is working, you will see if pump fuel through a line into the fuel tank and fuel will circulate through the bulb every time you press and release it. Sounds like your carb needs cleaning at minimum.

Any idea what rebuild kit I need for a Walboro WYC carb? It's on a Homelite UT08542B blower.

Thanks

There are other numbers that go with the WYC if it is a WYC-23-1 the kit is K10-WYC. You can get a lot of helpful info at the Walbro web site, Plastic Motorcycle Fuel Tank Manufacturer | Multi Layer Gas Tanks, Lawn Mower, ATV, Marine. Have a good one. Geo
