Battery + Inverter for 10-15 amp power tools

Battery + Inverter for 10-15 amp power tools

Would it be possible to use scooter or golf cart batteries through an inverter to run 1000 - 1500 watt 120V tools?

Welcome to the forums.

Allowing for 100% efficiency of the inverter, which is not possible, a 1200 watt tool on 120 volts would be drawing 10 amps, which would be 100 amps at 12 volts.

Sorry, don't see that working out.

It's not completely out of the question but requires a lot of battery power. It would depend on how long you needed inverter power to last. At a 100 DC amp load.... the battery life is short.
