TSC 8 HP Briggs and Stratton Tiller - No spark

Hi. I have a TSC / Husky rototiller with a 8 HP Briggs and Stratton (19402) engine. Ran great last fall. Tried to start this spring, to no avail. Troubleshoot to no spark. Have pulled the flywheel. Condenser and points housing looks clean and gaps appropriate. Am considering replacing coil with a magnetron coil. Can I just buy a new magentron coil or do i need to buy the conversion kit that Briggs sells that attaches to the old coils? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I would just put a new module in it and be done. Since you have the points exposed, pull those and the condenser. Then all you'll have for an ignition will be the module/coil, spark plug and kill switch.

Since you don't know if your current coil is the problem or not, I'd just buy the whole new coil with the electronics already inside. This way you will have eliminated all old parts in one easy to replace item.
