Old Toro a garden tiller won't start

Hello
I am new to this forum and new to small engine repair and need somme advice before I take my tiller into the shop. I found this tiller when we bought the new place and actually got it started after cleaning it up but now it won't start unless I put a little gas in the spark plug hole, then it will fire. Any advice. Thanks in advance.

It needs the carburetor and the gas tank and the fuel lines and filter all either cleaned or replaced, which ever fits.

You might try some Sea Foam and see if it will clean up the carburetor enough to work. The gas tank, if on an old tiller should be taken off and cleaned of rust, etc. Put some loose small screws in it and shake them around with some soapy water a few times. Once you get a clean dump of water rinse it with gasoline.

(*** don't use gas with the screws in case it should spark)
