Hydrostatic tranny problems in craftsman
I have an early to mid 2000 craftsman rider with Forward and reverse foot pedals on the right side of the mower. When I try to go forward or reverse it has a load whining noise and won't move. After pushing the pedal down several times it will start to move a little and then take off and operate normal.
Thanks for your help!

Check the belt condition/tension that goes from engine to transaxle. (top one)
If it is loose or worn much it will slip and mower won't move well.
Might have a sticking idler pivot or broke tension spring that keeps the belt tight.

Sounds to me a bit like the brake is sticking.

Finally found the problem. The brake was stuck. It is amazing what a little lubricant will do. Thanks
